This learnership qualification is developed with the aim to provide learners with a conceptual framework and skills necessary to perform routine functions within the Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance environment.


Learnership Programme

It is intended to equip learners to operate cross-functionally within the Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance environment of the International Logistics industry. 

LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

  • Successfully complete a National Certificate.
  • A structured learning programme that consists of a theoretical and practical component and that leads to a qualification that is registered on the National Qualification Framework (NQF).

AS A LEARNER ON THIS PROGRAMME YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES:

  • Successfully complete the Learnership Training Contract.
  • Attend the required training interventions and successfully complete the competency assessments.
  • Submit a Portfolio of Evidence.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

  • Essential requirement: completion of Grade 12 with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics (or 60% in Mathematical Literacy) and 50% in English.
  • Diploma in Supply Chain and/or Freight and Forwarding will be advantageous.

Packaging Learnerships X16 Positions

To provide 16 learners with an opportunity to enroll for a national certificate in food and beverage packaging (NQF 3). 

They will enter into a one-year, fixed term contract with Chamdor Brewery, during which they will undergo both on-the-job 

and off-the-job learning, culminating in a national qualification. 

Competence Requirements 

Minimum Matric with Maths & English 

Technical Courses (N2,N3,N4,N5 or N6) will be an added advantage.

Ability to work effectively in teams. 

Output and Accountabilities 

The Learnership is a structured learning programme that combines on-the-job learning as well as off-the-job learning in an 

integrated programme. The off-the- job component covers more theoretical aspects of the learning with work-based 

learning providing the opportunity for application of the theory and the further practical learning experiences required. 

Further characteristics of a Learnership are:
A Learnership leads to a national qualification registered on the (NQF) Qualification Framework. 

The qualification is based on SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) registered unit standards. 

The unit standards are written to reflect value adding skills required in the workplace and contains the outcomes and 

assessment criteria. 

Competence is demonstrated in the workplace utilising a variety of assessment methods and using the assessment 

criteria as the standard of performance.

Job Purpose

To offer unemployed individuals exposure to Gaming technical skills. Learners will be exposed to facilitating the playing of the Tables games and providing exceptional gaming service on the floor in accordance with company standards and ICS.

Education

Matric / Grade 12 (or equivalent).

Experience:

Customer service experience advantageous.

  • Successful Gaming Licence application.
