Eastern Cape Health Department is Looking for 100 People for Learnerships

he Eastern Cape Department of Health is implementing Learnership and Developmental Programmes targeting
the youth of our communities to capacitate and upskill community beneficiaries decrease the unemployment rate
in the province.

PHARMACIST ASSISTANT LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME (14 MONTHS)

REFERENCE NUMBER: PHARM. ASS 03/05/2018

Applications are invited from the unemployed (18.2) youth and qualifying employees (18.1) serving the department
of health who are interested in developing or upgrading themselves within Pharmaceutical services to apply for a
fourteen (14) months Learner Post Basic Pharmacist`s Assistant Learnership Programme scheduled to start in July
2018 for the following areas:

  • Joe Gqabi District– 30 learners (18.2)
  • Buffalo City Metro which includes Cecilia Makiwane and Frere Hospital – 10 (18.2)
  • Nelson Mandela Bay Metro – 10 (18.2)
  • Alfred Ndzo District (Umzimvubu Sub District – 30 (18.2)
  • Mbhashe Sub District – 10 (18.2)
  • Mnquma Sub District – 10 (18.2)

NOTE:

The above numbers for the allocated seats in the identified areas are excluding 18.1 (serving
employees) or the employed category.

Applications are invited from 18.1 (serving employees) who qualify and as per identified needs in their workplaces across the province and who are interested in undergoing a Learner Post Basic Pharmacist`s Assistant programme to submit their applications to their nearest Human Resource Development offices as per catchment areas or workplace.

Employees already serving in Pharmacy areas without the relevant qualification will be prioritized for the twenty (20) seats funded by HWSETA.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

The Eastern Cape Department of Health is implementing Learnership and Developmental Programmes targeting

1. Certified copy (current and not older than three months) of Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent with
Mathematics and English subjects passed.
2. Certified Copy of Identity document (RSA) – current and not older than three months. (If
a South African Identity card is used copies must be for both sides.)
3. CV/Personal profile
4. Z. 83 form filled (obtainable from any Public Service Department office or facility.)
5. Release letter from supervisors for the employed or serving applicants (18.1).
6. Proof of residence as per catchment area one has applied for.
7. A certified copy of South African Pharmacy Council Basic Pharmacist Assistant
National Certificate (current and not older than three months)
8. A good and outstanding academic performance record during schooling or other forms of
training will be an added advantage.

SAB is Looking for 18X People for Packaging Learnerships

The South African Breweries (SAB) invites applications for 18 Packaging Learnerships at Ibhayi Brewery Brewery. The purpose of this program is to provide unemployed youth with an opportunity to enrol for a National Certificate in Food & Beverage Packaging NQF 3. They will enter into a one-year, fixed term contract with the Brewery during which they will undergo both on-the-job and off-the-job learning, culminating in a national qualification.

The Learnership is a structured learning programme that combines practical and theoretical learning in an integrated programme. The learner is given exposure to theory and then opportunity is given for the application of the theory.

Further characteristics of a Learnership are:

  • The Learnership leads to a national qualification registered on the National Qualifcations Framework (NQF)
  • The qualification is based on SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) registered unit standards.
  • The unit standards are written to reflect value adding skills required in the workplace and contains the outcomes and assessment criteria.
  • Competence is demonstrated in the workplace utilizing a variety of assessment methods and using assessment criteria as the standard of performance.

Responsibilities

  • Run Production Machines (80% of the duration of Learnership)
  • Perform Maintenance, Inspection & Cleaning on Production Machines and environment
  • Monitor and Perform Quality analyses relating to the Production processes
  • Problem Solving
  • Maintaining a Healthy and Safe working environment
  • Completion of theory and practical assignments and tests

  • PC literacy (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work in teams

SAB Miller Traineeships Sandton

Location: Sandton

The Global Management Trainee program is an intensive 10 month rotational training program which attracts the brightest, most driven graduates and nurtures their talent by giving relevant experiences right from the start. Our goal is to find people who can take on challenging positions early on in their career and who have the potential to become our future leaders. We achieve this by putting the trainees through an intensive cross functional training program before their first role, where they will gain insight into every aspect of the business.

GMT Program Details:

  • 2 -3 weeks of induction training on the company’s culture, strategy and structure, In this phase, you will get exposure to our CEO, Global Chiefs and the Zone Management Team, and you will meet with all GMTs from around the world
  • 4 months of hands on, in-field training (deep dives) in our sales, marketing, supply and logistics operations, as well as our Business Shared Services across various locations in your Zone. You will develop an understanding of the “real life” of business by shadowing people who perform the job, from all levels. You will be part of a small group of 3-5 GMTs during this phase
  • 3 weeks of training on the Headquarter Strategy for the Zone (Finance, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Corporate Affairs, People, Logistics & Supply) at the Zone Headquarters, as well as leadership training.
  • 5 months Individual Assignment leading a process improvement project in the operations (sales, supply, trade marketing, marketing or logistics). You will receive clear deliverables and will be given feedback on your performance.
  • 1 graduation week with official certification. You will also present your Innovation project during this week.
  • Exposure to senior leaders throughout the training period.

Upon successful completion of the 10 month rotational program, you will take on an entry-level management position in any function depending on your profile, interest and results (e.g. sales supervisor, finance analyst, line supervisor, distribution manager, assistant trade marketing manager etc) You will also receive a mentor from the executive team when you start in your first position.

After 12-18 months, if you perform well, we expect you to be ready to take on your next challenge in a more senior management role in any functional area.

Requirements

  • Current University student or recent university graduate
  •  Bachelors degree required.
  •  Work authorization in the country for which application is being submitted
  •  Geographical mobility – you will move to different locations during the 10-month training program, and you should be willing to relocate throughout your career
