Job Advert Summary This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the Largest Retail Chain Store in South Africa. We are looking for a Trainee Accountant who is goal driven and has a background in the Accounting field. This position will be based at our Support Office in Western Cape

Minimum Requirements • Degree in accounting (BComm or equivalent)
• SAICA training
• Management accounting experience would be advantageous
• Microsoft Excel skill level: intermediate
• SAP Finance experience
• BPC experience advantageous

Assist regional accountants in the administration of stores and admin coordinators ito store reporting
Visit stores to ensure admin is in order and report findings ito receiving, cash office, Kronos, etc
Assist with stocktake schedule as per company policy by calculating shrink provisions, obsolete stock and return locker stock management
Assist the regional accountant with cash management and controls e.g. SASSA, Floats, Shorts and Overs, etc
Ensure together with the regional accountant that all cash queries are resolved and accounted for and that controls and procedures are adhered to and up to date in the takings department
Assist with budget setting (OPEX & CAPEX) and ensure that budget figures are loaded into BPC timeously & correctly
Actively involved in management accounts
Process accruals to the relevant General Ledger as well as correct posting period
Ensure the managements accounts are completed at month end
Provide reports to the relevant parties regarding management account results
Ensure that management account reports are produced on a monthly basis
Ensure that regional reports are submitted timeously to the region as required
Manage daily, weekly and monthly reporting on various reports e.g. Turnover reports, Daily
Review, General Ledger in the Trail Balance
Manage the control accounts and ensure that Prepaid GL accounts are reconciled
