Position: Customer Service Officer

Department:   Water and Sanitation
Division: Support Services
Salary: R 342 480-00 to R 469 824-00 p.a. (plus benefits) 

Core Responsibilities:

·          Plan, organise and Implement customer awareness programmes and roadshows

·          Align own work method in response to changes in policies, processes and SOPs in line with contracted targets



·          Utilise resources allocated to the job in order to perform contracted work outputs and report on and escalate any shortfalls

·          Identify and resolve queries and problems timeously, apply discretion in line with provided guidelines and escalate unresolved problems

·          Take accountability for delivery of contracted work output within agreed parameters of SOPs, quality standards and service targets

·          Communicate with people outside the organisation and liaise with customers, the public, government and other external sources

·          Build and sustain relationships with decision makers and interess groups, in support of operational objectives

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

·          Certificate in Customer Care/ Diploma in Customer Relations

·          Drivers licence

·          Computer literacy

·          2 years’ experience in similar environment

Requirements
Grade 12 with 2-years’ experience in switchboard / Call Center / Reception. Computer Literacy Certificate. Customer Service / Care Certificate. Experience in client liaison and telephone etiquette as well as good communication skills. Fluency in English. Duties
Maintain the image of the Reception area, attend to all incoming calls and outgoing call and transfer them to the relevant departments. Receive messages and convey them to relevant Office or personnel. Receiving of parcel and other related documents. Identify and report telephone faults. Maintain and updating telephone directory. Render faxes incoming and outgoing faxes and manage registers. Attend to visitors and ensure they reach the relevant destiny. Provide information to clients and deal with enquirers. Report any other incidents or accidents like fire, loss, damage/ other irregularities where possible and liaise with the security. Perform any other task that may be delegated by the supervisor. Attend meetings and training/courses were necessary. Ensure confidentiality of all documents.
