West Coast District Municipality invites suitable applicants to apply for Scholarship / Bursary Programme for 2019.

Closing Date: 18 January 2019

Location: Western Cape

The West Coast District Municipality in partnership with the Department of Local Government in Western

Cape (Provincial Treasury) will be offering four (4) bursaries for full-time studies at accredited tertiary
institutions to youth residing in the West Coast Region. x2 Second – year students are invited to apply for a bursary for the 2018 and 2019 academic year and x2 First-year students are invited to apply for a bursary for the 2019 academic year, which will be extended to a maximum of three years, provided that the candidate adheres to the bursary conditions. The bursary is restricted to full-time study and attendance at an accredited University, University of Technology or a registered Private Higher Education  institution and is eligible to individuals from historically disadvantaged societal groups or individuals with disabilities. The maximum estimated bursary amount peer annum is R60000 per student.

Applicants who study full-time in the following fields at an accredited University, University of Technology or a registered Private Higher Education institution will be considered.



Studying towards a National Diploma (NQF6) or Degree (NQF6/NQF 7) in

  • Financial Management
  • Financial Accounting
  • Internal Auditing
  • Risk Management
  • Economics
  • Procurement Logistics
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Computer Science (With Network subjects)
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
